The women who work the breakfast/lunch shift are very friendly and among the most efficient and attentive servers I've ever had. Every request I made was accepted cheerfully.
The food is good, but it's good at other places too. It's this wait staff that will keep me coming back. -

Ken's is a simple, local 24 hour diner located in the heart of Smyrna, not far from the village on the corner of Church Street and Atlanta Road that is very reminiscent of a certain national chain of 24 hour diners that may have yellow signage and a guy named Bert making chili...while you wont find Bert here, you will find a robust menu featuring all the breakfast, lunch and diner classics at a fairly reasonable price!
Decor/Layout - As mentioned, its an old local diner and the interior shows it. You will find worn tile, booths and ceiling tiles through out and pictures of planes and local places scattered across the walls. Kitchen is open to everyone, with the bar patrons getting a front row seat to all the action.
Food - As many 24 hour diners, they have a pretty expansive menu of options from breakfast platters to sandwiches to steaks and desserts. I have personally had the breakfast and haven't really deviated from that...breakfast is always the safest bet at diners, so why mess with something that isn't broken!? The country fried steak and eggs is quite tasty, but also fairly large in size...so if I am craving a classic of a lighter variety I will scoop up the corned beef hash and egg platter. The healthy serving of hash comes with two eggs any style, biscuit or toast and grits or hash browns.
Service - It was busy the times I have gone, so I usually chalk up delayed service to that. In both cases, the service overall has bee decent. Our server was nice, thankful and as attentive as a full house would allow her.
Overall, Ken's is not your local fine dining establishment or a fancy brunch spot...it's an older, worn down, local diner that serves "ok" food at a reasonable price. No frills...you get what is expected and that is good with me, so I will surely be back! -

From the start i knew i shouldn't had stayed when they told me the fryer was down , but i wanted to give it a try anyway bad mistake. The waitress was rude never ask if i wanted anything to drink with my meal , gave me a to-go plate even though i was dinning in the whole experience is something i rather forget.

The food is good, sort of like a down home waffle house almost. What makes this a 5 star place is the people working there. On the way in, my 3 yr old son scraped his knee. The server immediately brought him a ice pack in a glove. While we looked over the menu, she showed him how to stack creamers and after we were done, gave him a surprise for finishing his meal. Because of her kindness, his tears quickly turned to smiles. We'll definitely be back because of the service we got there.
